One thing that rings true across the entire RE/MAX organization is the deep commitment to community and helping the people in the communities we live and work in. As proud supporters of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and the fight against Breast Cancer, we are happy to help spread the word this October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
CIBC Run for the Cure:
The CIBC Run for the Cure is an event RE/MAX Associates from all over Canada take part in. This year, RE/MAX INTEGRA, Ontario Atlantic Region saw 207 team members participate in 17 different teams. Together, they were able to raise $40, 896.70 for The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Take a look at this infographic to see the Top 10 RE/MAX Teams, and the Top 10 RE/MAX Participant Fundraisers. In all, the 23rd annual CBCF Run for the Cure raised $25 Million on Sunday October 5th, 2014 for Breast Cancer research, education, and advocacy programs.
You may be surprised to learn that 1/3 of breast cancers can be prevented by living well – in fact, just 5-10% of breast cancers are linked to family history or genes. With the support of Shoppers Drug Mart and the Public Health Agency of Canada, The CBCF has developed an online resource to help inform and inspire you and others to become more aware of breast health. It’s called #OneNewThing and it can mean everything! When you visit onenewthing.cbcf.org you can create your personalized breast health plan and tap into educational and motivational resources for living well. It also includes an excellent resource that has been developed for RE/MAX so that you can help support breast health too. We encourage you to download the #OneNewThing Workplace Toolkit where you’ll find a range of digital and print resources to freely use and share. You’ll also get some ideas for how to use them in your workplace to begin making an impact today.
Home For a Cure:
RE/MAX Real Estate Associates play an active role in the fight against Breast Cancer through the Miracle Home Program which raises vital funds and awareness for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The program allows you to voluntarily make a donation from the sale of a home that will go directly to CBCF to Primary Prevention Research. Make sure you visit BestAgent.ca to learn more about how you can get involved with the Home for a Cure Program.
Thank you for helping us spread the work about Breast Cancer awareness during this very important month. Take some time to explore the many resources available, and use them to share with your clients throughout October, and going forward.
