Top 3 Takeaways from RE/MAX & You

Twice a year, RE/MAX Agents within the Ontario-Atlantic Canada region get together for a day of learning and networking. On top of receiving updates on the region, you have the opportunity to learn about what’s new, what’s coming up, and get insight into how top keynote speakers are currently finding success in their business.

All of the above rang true this year on November 18th, but it wasn’t all business! This year was unlike any other RE/MAX & You in the past with the introduction of an interactive game show with Valerie Garcia and the opportunity for us all to give back as the holiday season gets underway. Throughout the day, thanks to your generous donations, we watched the mountain of toys grow in support of the Children’s Make a Wish Foundation.

It was a busy day that saw updates from EVP/Regional Director Gurinder Sandhu and CEO of RE/MAX Promotions David Brown. From there, we learned the Top 5 Tips and Tools to get you Ready for the New Year with Training Specialist Andrew Fogliato, and we wrapped up the morning with Leigh Brown, who made us all ask ourselves the increasingly important question “What Are you Gonna Do?”. After briefly breaking for lunch, Valerie Garcia kicked off the afternoon with RE/MAX Battle of the Best that got everyone involved as we watched agents and speakers alike battle it out for the top spot in the winner’s circle. Not to be outdone by the speakers in the morning, Tony Joe from RE/MAX Camosun kept the day going by teaching the audience how they can keep their commissions. Last but not least, The Stone Sisters from RE/MAX Kelowna wrapped up RE/MAX & You by sharing top Negotiation skills they have learned that you can start implementing in your business today. The day flew by, so in case you missed them, we have listed our top three takeaways from the RE/MAX & You Below.

Top 3 Takeaways from RE/MAX & You

1.)    As of today, RE/MAX is number one in mobile traffic with 900,000 unique visitors on our website. Since 90% of consumers today begin their real estate search online, the importance of mobile was a topic that came up repeatedly throughout the day. Not only was it a big topic at RE/MAX & You, it is something we can expect to hear more about throughout the remainder of this year, and going forward in 2015.

2.)    Safety has always been a top priority, but it has recently become a bigger issue. In his session Andrew Fogliato shared top tips to keep you safe including always making it known people are waiting for you, trust your instincts, and use the buddy system. Not only that, but he shared an app that will help you stay safe and secure so you can worry about the things that really matter. Guardly is an App that works on all devices and automatically connects with Emergency Services, notifies designated people, and integrates location tracking technology.

3.)    Leigh Brown asked some great questions that were able to get everyone in the room thinking. Throughout the day, it was very clear that RE/MAX is the number one brand in real estate, and looking around it was easy to see we are all working with the best in the industry. Multiple speakers shared the innovative and time saving tools available when you work with RE/MAX, and yet the question remained, how can you be more? It is something everyone walked away thinking about, and we hope the answer will be one you will implement going forward into 2015.

On top of all of the information and insight we gained from our speakers, the online conversation provided an extra touch to an already amazing day. We had nearly 80 users joining the conversation with us online and together, you helped #rmxnu trend on Twitter all day long. We saw 1 Million online impressions, with well over 400 mentions.
